Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2025-12-12

This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of information by Solitaire ("we," "us," or "our") in connection with the Solitaire mobile application ("App") available on the Apple App Store. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Apple's App Store Guidelines.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve the App's functionality, enhance your gaming experience, and ensure the App operates securely. The information we collect falls into the following categories:

1.1 Data Linked to Your Identity

We may collect limited personal information that can be linked to your identity only when you voluntarily provide it or when required to deliver specific features. This may include:

            Device ID: We may request authorization to obtain your device ID information (e.g., IDFA).

1.2 Data Not Linked to Your Identity

We automatically collect certain non-identifiable information about your use of the App and your device. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you individually:

            Device Information: Device model, operating system version (e.g., iOS 18.0), unique device identifiers (e.g., Apple's Advertising Identifier, IDFA, only if you grant permission), and hardware specifications.

            Usage Data: Game session duration, number of games played, game progress (e.g., completed levels, score statistics), features used (e.g., hint function, undo feature), and interaction patterns within the App.

            Diagnostic Data: App crash reports, error logs, and performance data (e.g., loading times, freezing instances) to identify and fix technical issues.

1.3 Data Collected by Apple

Please note that Apple collects certain information independently when you download and use the App, such as App download statistics, payment information for in-app purchases, and data related to Apple services (e.g., iCloud backup). Apple's privacy practices are governed by its own Privacy Policy, which you can review at https://www.apple.com/privacy/.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following legitimate purposes, consistent with Apple's App Store requirements and applicable laws:

            Deliver and Maintain the App: To provide core game functionality, save your game progress, and ensure the App operates smoothly on your device.

            Improve the App: To analyze user behavior, identify trends, and make data-driven improvements to the App's features, performance, and user experience (e.g., optimizing game difficulty based on usage data).

            Provide Customer Support: To respond to your questions, resolve issues, and address feedback you may provide.

            Facilitate In-App Purchases: To process and confirm in-app purchases, and provide access to premium features you have purchased.

            Ensure Security: To detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, and other security threats to protect both you and the App.

            Comply with Legal Obligations: To adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes (e.g., responding to valid court orders).

3. Data Tracking and App Tracking Transparency

In compliance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework (required for iOS 14.5 and later), we will only track you across apps and websites owned by other companies if you explicitly grant us permission to do so. "Tracking" refers to linking your device or user data from our App with data from other companies' apps or websites for targeted advertising or sharing with data brokers.

If you grant tracking permission, we may use your Advertising Identifier (IDFA) to display targeted advertisements from third-party ad networks. You can revoke or modify this permission at any time in your device settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking).

If you deny tracking permission, we will not track your activity across third-party platforms, and all advertising (if applicable) will be non-targeted.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may disclose your information only in the following circumstances:

            Third-Party Service Providers: We may share non-identifiable or de-identified data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, such as analytics providers (e.g., Firebase Analytics) and ad networks (e.g., AdMob). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

            Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or if we believe such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

            Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction. We will notify you via email or in-app notification prior to such a transfer.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:

            Encryption of personal data in transit and at rest;

            Secure storage of data on servers with restricted access;

            Regular security audits and updates to the App and our systems;

            Limiting access to your data to only those employees or service providers who need it to perform their duties.

While we strive to protect your data, no security measure is completely foolproof. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any account credentials used to access the App.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, or as required by law. Specifically:

            Identity-linked data (e.g., email address) will be retained until you request its deletion or until your account is inactive for 12 consecutive months;

            Non-identifiable usage and diagnostic data will be retained for up to 24 months for analytical purposes, after which it will be aggregated or anonymized;

            In-app purchase data will be retained for as long as required to comply with tax and financial regulations.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following privacy rights, which you can exercise by contacting us at [Contact Email]:

            Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;

            Right to Correction: Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal information;

            Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements);

            Right to Restrict Processing: Request that we limit the processing of your personal information;

            Right to Data Portability: Request transfer of your personal information to another data controller (where technically feasible);

            Right to Object: Object to the processing of your personal information for marketing or analytical purposes.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), these rights are guaranteed under the GDPR. For users in California, these rights are protected under the CCPA. We will respond to your request within 30 days of receipt.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will immediately delete such information. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal information to us may contact us at [Contact Email] to request deletion.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data practices or applicable laws. When we make material changes, we will notify you by: (1) posting the updated policy on the App's product page in the Apple App Store; (2) sending an in-app notification; or (3) sending an email to your registered email address (if applicable). The updated policy will be effective as of the "Effective Date" listed at the top.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
